Friend of mine! whose lot was cast Fact and fancy, thought and theme, Touched by change have all things been, For the calm thy kindness lent Gentle words where such were few, For a waking dream made good, For thy marvellous gift to cull Thoughts and fancies, Hybla's bees Still for these I own my debt; And as one who scatters flowers In superfluous zeal bestowing To thy full thoughts, gay or sad, Well assured that thou wilt take
